President Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Punjab, Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Monday that PPP would sit on opposition benches in the province. He was presiding over a meeting of party ticket holders at the party secretariat in Model Town.
The participants of the meeting extended their viewpoints on the general elections and expressed their concerns over delay in handing over form 45 to their polling agents. They said their polling agents were thrown out of the polling stations after 6PM.
Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the PPP has yet secured seats in Punjab despite all out efforts of opponents to wipe it out. According to him, PPP has performed well in the general elections of 2018. He also pointed out that there was massive rigging in elections, as form 45 were not given to candidates by the returning officers.
He said it is pity that Imran has failed to ensure simple majority in the parliament. However, he assured of not obstructing positive steps of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the larger national interest. Kaira lamented that even the allies of PTI are complaining against rigging.
