The profit after tax of Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited has increased to Rs 1.589 billion in the half year period ended June 30, 2018 as compared to 1.545 billion earned in the corresponding period in 2017. The company's earning per share increased to Rs 4.91 in the period under review against Rs 4.77 in the same period a year back.
The board of directors of the company in its meeting held here on Wednesday recommended an interim cash dividend for the half year ended June 30, 2018 at Rs 1.5 per share i.e. 15 percent. According to the financial results sent to Pakistan Stock Exchange, the company's sales stood at Rs 6.032 billion in the half year period this year against Rs 6.151 billion in the same period last year.
The company's cost of sales stood at Rs 4.239 billion in this period against Rs 4.469 billion in the same period last year. The company's profit before taxation increased to Rs 1.589 billion in the first half of 2018 against Rs 1.545 billion in the same period last year.
On quarterly basis, the company's profit after tax increased to Rs 920.545 million translating into earning per share of Rs 2.84 in the quarter ended June 30, 2018 as compared to PAT of Rs 877.034 million with EPS of Rs 2.71 in the same quarter last year.
