A constitutional petition was on Wednesday filed in Sindh High Court (SCH) against Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, seeking his disqualification as Member of National Assembly for submitting a false declaration in the nomination papers to contest recently held general elections.
Petitioner Abdul Wahab Baloch, who contested election against Irman Kahn at NA-243 Karachi filed the petition in SHC. Wahab Baloch, who is Secretary General Justice Party led by former Chief Justice of Pakistan Ifitkhar Mohammad Chaudhry made Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Imran Khan and others respondents in the petition.
The petitioner submitted the declaration of Imran Khan about his eligibility to contest the election of national assembly seat. He stated that Imran Khan had illegitimate relation with Sita White, who gave birth to girl baby in early 90s. "Imran Khan avoided the emotional and financial responsibilities of the said child," the petitioner submitted.
The petitioner stated that Imran Khan didn't mention about this girl child in his declaration, so he is neither a sagacious, righteous, non-profligate, honest and Ameen. The petitioner also challenged the verdict of Returning Officer and Appellate Tribunal for accepting the nomination papers of Imran Khan.
He prayed the court to summon Imran Khan to question him about false declaration of Article 62(1)(d)(e)(f) of the constitution. The petitioner pleaded the court to deseat Imran Khan in the light of principles laid down in Supreme Court judgment of July 28, 2017, which disqualified Mian Nawaz Sharif, ultimately sacking him from premiership of the country.
Meanwhile, over hundred parents moved SHC against two schools for arbitrarily enhancing the school fee. The parents submitted that school management jacked up the fees by ten to 13 percent in violation of rules and regulations.
They stated that the admission fee of these two schools have been increased to 100,000 rupees, which they called illegal and said that they can't afford to pay such a high amount.
The petitioners' counsel prayed the court to direct the management of these two schools to refrain from increasing fee for the academic year 2018-19 commencing in August 2018 after the conclusion of summer vacation.
The petitioners also pleaded the court to order for strictly ensuring registration and renewal of registration of educational institutions. They also prayed the court to direct for immediate constitution of "Private Institutions Management & Quality Assurance Board" to streamlines the functions of private educational institutions.
