Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) nominated Imran Ismail for new governor Sindh on Saturday. A statement issued here by the central media secretariat of the party said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan finalized Ismail's name for the top provincial post. He has also been elected member provincial assembly Sindh in July 25 general elections from PS-111 (Karachi). He will be the 32nd governor of Sindh.
Ismail was born in 1966 in Karachi. He received his early education from Cantonment Public School and graduated from Government National College, Karachi. He ran for the seat of National Assembly as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate from NA-246 (Karachi-VIII) in by-election held in April 2015 but remained unsuccessful.
He received 24,821 votes and lost the seat to Kunwar Naveed Jamil of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P). He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as candidate of PTI from constituency PS-111 (Karachi-XXIII) in July 25 general elections.
