University of Karachi (KU) vice chancellor Prof Muhammad Ajmal Khan said KU is mini Pakistan which represents every community of the country. Students and teachers from every community and province are playing their roles in varsity's development. We could only achieve the goal of welfare state if we implement Quaid's vision and thoughts. Pakistan is facing the challenges of terrorism and we all must join hands in order to eradicate this menace from our country. Pakistan is the result of millions of sacrifices of subcontinent Muslims, we must value it.
He was expressing his views on the Independence Day celebrations programme held at the ground floor of KU's new administration building. Dr Khan said, "Pakistani army has a history of giving unprecedented sacrifices for the country and nation on which the whole nation is thankful to them..."
The proceedings of the programme commenced from flag hoisting ceremony, VC Prof. Muhammad Ajmal Khan hoisted the national flag in the presence of thousands of students, faculty members and employees of the varsity. All those students represented and won laurels for the varsity in different co-curricular competitions nationally and internationally were awarded with medals/awards.
National songs were presented by renowned singers and bands including the Sounds of Kolachi, Braadri Broadcast, Taimur Junaid Jamshed, Zoe Viccaji and many others. Former HEC chairman and scientist Dr Atta ur Rehman said Pakistan was achieved after great struggle and sacrifices, we must value and preserve our freedom and work for its development.
