"Every Pakistani should make a solemn pledge to protect the geographical as well as the ideological boundaries of Pakistan with a renewed pledge to make Pakistan a fully sovereign country in the comity of nations on Independence Day."
These views were expressed by Acting President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), Sheikh Farooq Yusuf while performing the traditional flag hosting ceremony at FCCI Complex here on August 14, 2018. He termed Independence Day an event to renew our pledge to make Pakistan a leading country of the world with commitment of self accountability so that we could evaluate ourselves that how much we have so far returned to Pakistan that has given us the most precious gift of independence.
He stressed upon unity among the nation and said that the quote of Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah "Unity, Faith and Discipline" should be an integral part of our lives. cEarlier, Farooq Yusuf unfurled the Pakistani flag and recited national anthem along with the entire nation. He also prayed for the progress, prosperity and solidarity of Pakistan.
During this colorful function a renowned band continued to play popular tunes of national songs while a stuntman Saddhi Ahmed dragged "Pajero" with his mustaches. He also gave swings to small children with his mustaches. A traditional cake cutting ceremony was also held in the board room of FCCI. Sheikh Farooq Yusuf cut the cake. He also presented FCCI shield and gifts to Saddhi Ahmed. Special arrangements of breakfast were made for the participants of the meeting.
The meeting was also attended by Former Senior Vice President Rana Sikandar-e-Azam, Executive Members Tanveer Ahmed, Yaqoob Awan, Afzal Mughal, Rana Ikram Ullah and Hajji Muhammad Saleem in addition to the staff of FCCI. Later, Sheikh Farooq Yusuf visited district jail and distributed sweets among the inmates. He also assured the jail superintendent that the FCCI will continue to corporate with jail administration for the welfare of its inmates. Farooq Yusuf also planted a sapling in green belt in front of FCCI Complex. He also made a pledge to make Faisalabad greener and pollution-free.
