North Muslim Football Academy proved too good for Garrison Academy in the final of SPC All-Karachi U-16 Independence Day Football Tournament and recorded a convincing 4-0 victory to claim the title here at 16-Star Football Ground on Tuesday evening. Mohammad Shahryar and Mohammad Bilal scored two goals each for the winners in the summit clash. Shehryar scored the quickest goal of the tournament, scoring the first goal of the match in the very first minute of the game. He was later adjudged 'Player of the Tournament'.
Emerging Player award went to 14-year-old Abdul Rafay of 16-Star Academy. Earlier, Shahryar had also fired two goals in the semifinal match against North Youngs Football Club to propel his team into the final with a 2-0 win. Meanwhile, Garrison Academy defeated venue host 16-Star Academy by 3-1 score on penalty kicks after the regulation time ended in a goalless draw. Chief Guest President District Football Association (DFA) Karachi Central Syed Usman Shah distributed trophies among the winner and runner-up teams.
Usman praised Sports Promotion Company (SPC) for making efforts to promote the wonderful game of football among the youth of the city. Vice President DFA Central Mohammad Shamim Riaz Ahmed, Khurseed Ali Shah, Haroon Shirazi, Syed Nasir Ali, Saleemuddin, Azfar Ahmed, Mamoon Rasheed, Karim Bux Chandio and others were also present.
