Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Gwadar on Saturday claimed to have seized huge quantity of smuggled liquors in Balochistan. According to details, the action was taken on a tip-off, which revealed that myriad quantity of smuggled liquor was dumped at Kalamat area.
Reacting on this information, a team was deployed at the said location for strict vigilance. The team in assistance from Pakistan Navy, PNS Akram carried out patrolling at coastal belt as the operation required concerted efforts from sea as well as from ground formations.
Consequently, both the teams in close coordination approached the targeted area and raided the suspicious spot at Chandi Village Beach, in Kalamat area and recovered huge quantity of liquor dumped in an abandoned place. The customs staff has seized 488 bottles of whiskey of different brand, 8 sacks of red wine of different brands, 23 bottles of Dry Gin (King Roberts) and 3229 beer cans worth Rs 2.75 million. The case has been registered and further investigations are under way.
