Students of the different universalities on Saturday at a roundtable talk urged the government to redefine the scope of the country' relations with regional powers. Pakistan Institute of International Affairs (PIIA) organized the talk at the institute's library, where the students shared their views of country's foreign policy in details. They highlighted importance of an independent foreign policy.
A student Asif said that Pakistan has to redefine its relations with global powers and regional countries. He said that independent foreign policy could help Pakistan improve its image, globally. Wajiha Najam said good governance in the country is pivotal for formulation of balanced and independent foreign policy. She said sustainable peace in the country would help Pakistan develop cordial relations with Afghanistan and other neighboring countries.
Amir Hussain, a student of University of Karachi advised the government to get out of clutches of IMF for having an independent foreign policy of the country for the world and regional powers. Sobia Irfan said that Pakistan has to strengthen its lobbying cluster to pursue its case on conflicts strongly with global powers.
