Files nomination papers for CM Punjab: Buzdar vows to bring merit-based system in Punjab

Punjab Chief Minister's (CM) nominee Usman Buzdar on Saturday said that he would work day and night to brining change in the province. While talking to the media after filing the nomination papers, Buzdar pledged not to contest elections again if he fails in solving the problems of the province. "I will bring a merit-based system in Punjab", added Buzdar.
"To run a large province like Punjab, which is full of challenge, is a colossal task. People inquire how you would confront this responsibility as you have been elected member of the provincial assembly (MPA) for the first time", stated CM-in-waiting.
With high spirits, Buzdar vowed to root out mismanagement and corruption from Pakistan's largest province. He added, "Not in months, masses will witness the change in days". Responding to a question, Buzdar dispelled all allegations levelled against him.
He secured 26,897 votes from PP-286 Taunsa Sharif and defeated independent candidate Khawaja Muhammad Nizamul Mehmood. Buzdar remained a member of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) from 2002-2008 and later switched to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). In 2013, he contested the election from PML-N ticket but lost to Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) candidate. In Musharraf era, he remained district Nazim of Taunsa. His father Fatah Muhammad Buzdar is the chief of Buzdar tribe and was elected thrice as Member of National Assembly (MNA).
