General Secretary ANP, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Hussain Babak has said that their party is going to constitute a Parliamentary Jirga comprising of the representatives of all political parties for the achievement of the constitutional rights of the province.
The Jirga, he said will be comprised of all political parties, which either have representation in the provincial assembly or not. The Parliamentary Jirga will carry constitutional and democratic struggle for obtaining constitutional rights and resolution of the problems faced by the province.
The objectives of the parliamentary Jirga is to wage joint struggle for the authority of provinces over electricity, shifting of WAPDA Headquarters to federal capital, release of timely and full receipts in head of net-hydel profit, construction of small power generation projects, provision of gas to all districts of the province on priority bases, bringing millions of acres barren land under cultivation with the construction of Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC), Peshawar-Karachi Motorway, abolition of the monopoly of two companies over the cash crop of tobacco, guaranteeing of provincial resources on basis of need and backwardness, revival of closed industrial units, guaranteeing the share of KP in CPEC, political and legal battle for release of arrears in head of net-hydel profit, promotion of tourism, establishment of universities, medical colleges and other professional educational institutions, resistance of efforts for roll-backing 18th Constitutional Amendment.
He said that for the achievement of these goals they will contact all political parties either having representation in parliament or not while people of all segments of society will also be included in the Jirga. Sardar Hussain Babak, who is also parliamentary leader of ANP in KP Assembly said that terrorism had played havoc with the economy of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wherein price-hike and unemployment have made the people psychological patients.
He said that the province is rich of natural resources while sufficient manpower is also available. He said that though the province offers huge investment opportunities, but the lacking of constitutional rights are making the lives of the people miserable.
The ANP stalwart was hopeful of the continuation of democratic and constitutional struggle for the resolution of all problems of the province. Furthermore, he also hinted at seeking the cooperation of the members of National Assembly and Senate for the purpose to take them on board in the struggle for the resolution of these problems.
