Prices of essential food commodities, including vegetable, pulses, spices sugar, confectionary items, except chicken meat have increased in retail market, according to the survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday. Price of tomato has gone up at Rs 70-80 per kilogram from Rs 40 per kilogram in retail market, while one-kilogram onion is being sold at Rs50 which was selling at Rs 30 per kilogram during the previous week.
Similarly, price of ginger is touched new peak in retail market, as being sold at Rs 250 per kilogram as compared to rate of Rs 160 per kg in the last week. However, rate of garlic remained unchanged as available at Rs 80-100 per kg in retail market.
Cucumber is being sold at Rs50 per kg against the price of Rs 40 per kg. Red potato priced at Rs 60 per kg while white-coloured potato available at Rs 40 per kg, the survey said. It added that a one-kilogram peas is being sold at Rs 200 in retail market. Arvi priced at Rs 70 per kg, cabbage at Rs50 per kg, cauliflower being sold at Rs 80 per kg, while apple gourd, bottle gourd and ridge gourd prices range between Rs 80-100 per kg.
The survey noticed that the downward trend in prices of chicken meat/products continued in retail market as available at Rs 99 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 117 per kilogram in the previous week. A dozen of farm eggs are being available at Rs 90-100 in retail market.
Similarly, cow meat is being sold at Rs 350-400 per kilogram against the official rate of Rs 300 per kilogram in retail market, while beef is available at Rs 750-800 per kilogram, the survey said. A mixed trend in prices of pulses/food grains was witnessed in retail market as a one-kilogram good quality (sela) rice priced at Rs 150 per kilogram while other at Rs 135 per kg, the survey said.
Price of toota rice has gone down at Rs 70 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 80 per kilogram, the survey said. Gram flour (baisen) price was remained unchanged as being available at Rs 115 per kilogram and other quality at Rs 90 per kg in retail market, it added.
Dal mash was being sold at Rs 120-110 per kg in retail market, while dal channa priced at Rs 100 per kg, the survey said. It added that Dal masoor is being sold at Rs 80 per kg, which was selling at Rs 90 per kilogram in the retail market.
Similarly, the price of dal chilka (green) is being sold at Rs 110 per kilogram. However, the price of dhoti dal remained unchanged as available at Rs 90 per kg. Red bean is available at Rs 120-110 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 140 per kilogram in the previous week. The price of the big-size white channa has decreased at Rs 140-150 from Rs 160 per kilogram.
Likewise, a one-kilogram white lobiya is being sold at Rs 100, which was selling at Rs 110 per kilogram in the previous week. Red bean is being sold at Rs 110 per kilogram against the price of Rs 120 per kilogram.
The retail price of One-kilogram moonge is Rs 100 against the price of Rs 120 per kg in the previous week, while dal chilka (black colour) is being sold at Rs 140 per kilogram. According to the survey, the prices of different brands/quality of cooking oil/ghee were remained stable in retail market as no significant increase or change was witnessed in the previous week, as available within range of Rs 130, Rs 150 and Rs 165 and Rs 180 per litre/kilo in retail market. Sugar is being sold at Rs55 per kilogram.
Fresh milk is being sold at Rs 110-120 per litre against the official rate of Rs 90 per litre while yogurt available at Rs 110-120 per kilo against official rate of Rs 80 per kilo in local market. Red colour Chinese apple is available at Rs 80-100 per kilogram; mangoes are being sold at Rs 80 per kg, grapes at Rs 80 and Rs 120 per kg, guava at Rs 60-80 per kg, apricot at Rs 120 per kg, mush melon at Rs 100-120 per piece. A dozen of banana is being sold at Rs50-60. Peach is being sold at Rs 150 per kilo.
