The government has released Rs 30.304 billion for different development projects under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19 against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 1,030 billion including Rs 100 billion Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode financing (outside budget).
According to latest data of PSDP 2018-19 released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, the caretaker government has released a total of Rs 18.38 billion till August 17, 2018 for 17 different ministries, divisions and their departments.
The government has released Rs 4.632 billion fund for Higher Education Commission under the PSDP-2018-19. It released Rs 210.45 million for Aviation Division, Rs 200 million for Cabinet Division, Rs 380 million for Defense Production Division, Rs 290 million for Information Technology and Telecom Division, Rs 2.58 billion for Interior Division, Rs 334 million for Maritime Affairs Division, and Rs 19.49 million for Narcotics Control Division for the current fiscal year 2018-19.
The Ministry for Planning, Development and Reform also released Rs 541.69 million for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Rs 4.67 billion for Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Rs 60 million for Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority, Rs 9.327 million for Petroleum Division, Rs 821.894 million for Planning, Development and Reform Division, Rs 3.38 billion for Railways Division, Rs 224.92 million for Revenue Division, and Rs 3.6 million for the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).
However, the government did not release funds for other ministries, divisions and their department including, Commerce Division, Water Resources Division, Statistic Division, Law and Justice Division, Housing and Works Division, Economic Affairs Division, Inter-Provincial Coordination, Foreign Affairs, and Finance, etc.
According to data, the foreign aid has not been released so far for development projects for financial year 2018-19 under the PSDP. The government released Rs 4.74 billion for development projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 29.88 billion for current fiscal year. The government released Rs 7.078 billion funds for the development projects of Gilgit-Baltistan, and Rs 110 million for the Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA).
The funds are released as per quarterly ceilings: first quarter (July-September) 20 percent, second quarter (October-December) 20%, third quarter (January-March) 30 percent and fourth quarter (April-June) 30 percent.
