Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi on Monday appealed to the public to help its welfare organization-Al-Khidmat with a maximum contribution of sacrificial animals' hides so that it could more effectively carry out its charity work among the poor. Addressing a press conference at Idara Noor-e-Haq, Chief of JI Karachi, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman vowed to continue the welfare work to help the underprivileged people in the society with provisions of a scores of amenities despite being continuously ignored by voters in general elections.
He urged the public to help Al-Khidmat to dispense charity among the needy people around the year, saying that JI's welfare organization is widely working on developing clean water plants, providing education and healthcare, fostering orphans etc. He said that such charity services require a hug fund to continue effectively. "People have trust in us [JI] whose donations are spent on charity projects and services," he added.
Al-Khidmat providing its services in seven different fields with a primary focus on health and education provisions. "Al-Khidmat Karachi spent Rs 924 million during 2017-18 to support 6.4 million people," he said, adding that Al-Khidmat accumulates donations from Zakat and hides of sacrificial animals, which people donate to it every year.
The charity organization, he said, also foster over 1000 orphans with operating five hospitals and six medical stores in the city. "Last Eid-ul-Azha, Al-Khidmat received animals' hides of Rs50 million," he pointed out, saying that the Al-Khidmat is building 38 water filtration plants in the metropolis. He urged the public to contribute donations to Al-Khidmat generously.
