Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Senator Chaudhry Sarwar is likely to take oath as Punjab Governor on August 28. Chaudhry Sarwar who had also earlier served the provincial governor during tenure of the PML-N in 2013 had resigned in 2015. Later he joined the PTI and now he is ready to again serve as Punjab governor.
Sources disclosed that Chaudhry Sarwar will resign from the Senate membership on August 27. "The new Punjab governor will not shift to the Governor House and will continue to live at his home in the Defence area in Lahore," the sources said, adding: "Chaudhry Sarwar is planning to shift his office at a private space as he wants the official space to be used for the benefit of the masses." The sources claimed that Chaudhry Sarwar is supposed to play an important role in the PTI-led Punjab government for the facilitation of public at large.
