Emir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the youth are the future and real asset of the country and a real change in the country is possible only through them. Addressing the Central Majlis-e-Shura of Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT), the student wing of the JI, here on Tuesday, he said that the country needs revolutionary changes in the field of education and introduction of a uniform education system is need of the hour.
Sirajul Haq said that Pakistan is the only country in the world whose 66 percent population consists of youth. He said that no government in the past had given due attention to the youth's problems. A large army of youth is roaming around in search of jobs with degrees in hand but in vain. More than 20 million children are out of the schools but nobody bothered about them. Many of these children are compelled to do odd jobs at homes and hotels.
He said the PTI government has announced provision of jobs to ten million youth, besides improving the standard of education, adding only time would tell about its implementation. Sirajul Haq said that the IJT is the only platform for the intellectual, educational and physical upbringing of the youth in the country.
In the past, the IJT had produced most competent and honest people in different walks of life who are serving the nation and the country in different fields. The IJT, he said, would continue to produce work in this direction. He said the country requires competent economists who can build the country's economy on true Islamic lines. It also needs jurists and lawyers who are able to dispense justice to the common man. Haq said that the IJT is the legacy of Syed Abu Ala Maodoodi and has the credit of rendering valuable services for the country.
