Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar made his first visit to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Mian Channu to inspect the medical facilities being provided in the rural areas of south Punjab. He inspected the emergency ward, OPD and other wards of the hospital and talked to patients about their treatment.
He took notice of the complaints by some patients with regard to treatment facilities and asked the doctors to immediately resolve them. He instructed the hospital administration to make the dialysis machines functional within two weeks as there was no operator to operate these machines.
He said it was regrettable that medical equipment was available but there was no arrangement to operate it. The government would not allow the resources of the nation to be wasted like that, he said and directed that immediate steps should be taken to operate the dialysis machines for the treatment of the kidney patients.
He also directed the health department to appoint consultants/specialists of various diseases in the hospital within one month and announced that funds would be allocated in the budget for the establishment of a trauma centre in this hospital.
The chief minister said he has made his first visit to a Tehsil hospital with a view to transform hospitals as healing centres and make the wave of change visible in hospitals as well. In the new Pakistan of Imran Khan, the dilapidated conditions of the hospitals will be improved and a system will be introduced to provide quality healthcare facilities to patients, he added. Lazy attitude will not be tolerated anymore and everybody will have to show performance. Similarly, patients' complaints about treatment should be immediately resolved
Earlier, the CM visited the shrine of Hazrat Baba Farid-uddin Gunj Shakar (RA) at Pakpattan and laid a floral wreath. He offered Fateha and prayed for public welfare and prosperity of the country. He also offered Nawafil at the shrine.
