Islamabad Police beefed up security in the federal capital in wake of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan's (TLP) march from Lahore to Islamabad against Dutch Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders' announcement to hold a competition of blasphemous caricatures. The capital administration has arranged containers and barbed wire to stop the entry of protesters into the Red Zone.
An official said the capital administration following the request of capital police requested for 2,000 Frontier Corps and 1,000 Rangers personnel to assist police to deal with the protest. He said that high-ups of capital police issued strict directives and the rally would not be allowed to enter the Red Zone.
