The Karachi Port handled 165,247 tonnes of cargo comprising 130,938 tonnes of import cargo and 34,309 tonnes of export cargo including 8,046 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 130,938 tonnes comprised of 73,357 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,687 tonnes of bulk cargo; 16,234 tonnes of DAP and 36,660 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,309 tonnes comprised of 21,487 tonnes of containerised cargo; 182 tonnes of bulk cargo; 10,780 tonnes of wheat and 1,860 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,046 containers comprising of 4,937 containers import and 3,109 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,821 of 20's and 1,555 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 03 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 695 of 20's and 189 of 40's loaded containers while 694 of 20's and 671 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were five ships namely APL Chongqing, CMA CGM Fidelio, Ever Decent, MT Quetta and Milos carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. MOL Gateway, CMA CGM Fidelio, Mattina, Clio, Amber-L and AS Valentia carrying containers, oil tanker, wheat and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 181,251 tonnes comprising 146,770 tonnes of import cargo and 34,481 tonnes of export cargo including 2,800 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 146,770 tonnes includes 45,241 tonnes of furnace oil; 7,500 tonnes of palm oil; 3,200 tonnes of LPG; 55,285 tonnes of coal; 7,044 tonnes of soyabean and 28,500 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,481 tonnes includes 9,781 tonnes of cement and 24,700 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,800 containers comprising of 1,500 containers import and 1,300 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were two ships namely MV Maritime Prosperity and MT Gas Amazon carrying coal and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while five more ships namely CV Hugo Schulte, CV APL Antwerp, MV Royal Lady, MV GH Galileo and MT Shalamar carrying containers, bitumen, coal and furnace oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of twelve vessels viz. CV APL Antwerp, CV Hugo Schulte, MV Royal Lady, MV Parnassos, MV GH Galileo, MV African Jacona, MV Maritime Prosperity, MV Jin Tao, MV Cecilia-B, MV Gas Amazon, MT Shalamar and MT Sun Ploeg were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, cement, coal, soyabean, chemical, furnace oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as thirteen ships namely CV Songa Calebria, MV Hercules Ocean, MV Dias, MV Orion-III, MV Sakizaya Miracle, MV Darya Tiana, MV Thor Brave, MV Chemroad Haya, MT Al-Dacen, MT Maria-III, MT UACC Ibn Sina, MT Al-Salam-II and MT Flagship Tulip carrying containers, soyabean, rapeseeds, coal, chemical, LNG, LPG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five vessels viz. CV Songa Calabria, CV CMA CGM Fidelio, MV Darya Tiana, MV Al-Dacen and MV Chemroad Haya carrying containers, coal, LNG, and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore and Coal Berth, Engro Elengy Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Friday.
There was one ship namely CV CMA CGM Fidelio carrying containers due to arrive on Friday, while two ships namely CV Libra and CV GH Chinook carrying containers are due to arrive on Saturday.
