The crime rate registered an upward trend in the federal capital during the last week, as over seven cases of various kinds of thefts and six cases of carjacking were reported to various police stations of the city.
According to data collected by Business Recorder here on Saturday, four cases of kidnapping were also reported to different police stations. Most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Bani Gala, Ramna, Margalla, Khanna and Kohsar police stations.
During the aforementioned period, Bani Gala police station registered one case of robbery and two cases of kidnapping. One victim Ameer Usman filed a complaint with Bani Gala police station that two unknown armed persons snatched cash and a mobile phone from him at gunpoint.
Another Masood Ahmad filed a complaint with Bani Gala police station that an accused Saqlain has kidnapped his daughter. One citizen namely Zia Shahid informed the same police station that accused Adeel, Aqeel and Nadeem kidnapped his sister.
Three cases of motor vehicle theft were reported to Margalla police station during the period. The auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number F-5938 of one Hazrat Bilal. They lifted another bike bearing registration number AQL-711 of Burhan Islam and stole a bike bearing registration number RIQ-5446 of one Kiramat Khan.
Khanna police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. Carjackers stole a car bearing registration number GTB-2811 of one Waqas Waseem.
In another incident, one Khalid Mehmood filed a complaint with Khanna police station that unidentified robbers stole cash, gold ornaments and watches from his house.
During the last week, Kohsar police station registered one case each of auto theft and kidnapping. One Imtiaz-ud-Din filed a complaint with Kohsar police station that unknown accused kidnapped his relative Abdul Wajid. Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number LRD-1884 of one Iftikhar Ahmad. During the aforementioned period, Ramna police station registered one case each of robbery and auto theft. One Ashrafullah informed Ramna police station that unidentified robbers stole gold ornaments and other valuables from his house. The auto thieves stole a bike (RIP-9351) of one Muhammad Sheraz.
In the same period, Tarnol and Koral police stations registered one case each of robbery while Karachi Company police station registered one case of auto theft.
