Petitioner Yaseen Lari submitted to the court that more than five hundred historical buildings have been declared dangerous in Sindh.
Petitioner prayed the court that issue orders to the relevant authorities for protection of these historical buildings. During the course of hearing, the Chief Justice said that there is an impression that country lacks the talent and we look forward to the foreigners for mega works, who take billions of rupees only for consultancy.
He said the apex court assigned the responsibility of new dams to the country's engineers and said that country has a lot of talent, which need to be exploited. The CJP said that this talent should be utilized for protection of historical sites too.
Accepting the plea of the petitioner, the Chief Justice ordered Sindh Government to take measures for protection of historical sites in lines with the directive of the high court. Meanwhile, taking up the death of four children from expired vaccination of measles, the Supreme Court ordered Sindh Health Department to pay compensation to the families of the deceased children.
The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar heard the case of death of four infants due to expired vaccination.
