Punjab Minister for Industries & Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal and Minister for Schools Education Murad Raas on Saturday inaugurated three-day international exhibition on "engineering & machinery trade fair, food technology and Halal Food-2018".
As many as 150 delegates from 11 countries including China, UK, USA Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Iran and Singapore are participating in the exhibition that was jointly organized by E-Commerce Gateway and Pakistan China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the Expo Center. The exhibitions that have showcased over 150 products at 350 stalls would remain opened till September 3, 2018, and also facilitate business-to-business (B2B) meetings for probable joint ventures.
Talking to media, Mian Aslam Iqbal said the collaboration of Chinese companies with Pakistani companies would yield promising results. He said the successful operation for technology transfer from China to Pakistan needed specialized technical institutions which would be the prime focus of the new government by training youth for employment generation.
He said such exhibitions are a source of promoting local industry and exports. Immediate steps are being taken for the development of small industries, he said, adding that coordinated strategy would be evolved soon to promote small and big industries in the province.
The minister said that national economy would be strengthened through promotion of industrial and investment process as vocational education has high importance in this regard. He said a strategy will soon be announced for the provision of loan to youth on soft terms while special attention would be paid on preparation of market-need based trained human force.
He said exports cannot be increased without facilitating investors, revamping the tax system and reducing the input cost. All necessary steps will be taken to provide facility to the local and foreign investors in this regard, he added. He said that 100-day plan would be fully implemented.
Murad Raas also spoke on the occasion and expressed his government's stance on providing one-stop solution to foreign investors under one roof. With the escalation of labor cost and other cost of doing business in China, this is the right time for Pakistani manufacturers to do joint ventures for acquiring state-of-the-art technology, financial and human capital and huge market orders from the nooks and corners of the globe, he said.
He said the government will provide necessary facilities to the foreign investors and steps would be taken to promote tourism. He said the education department is providing technical education to the students in government schools as it is vital for the development of national economy. Speaking on the occasion, PCJCCI President S M Naveed and President Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan Dr Khursheed Nizam expressed their views and optimism for the success of exhibition.
