The death toll of Congo effectees raised to two when another youth of Piro Khel village of Landi Kotal division died of the Congo disease in Peshawar hospital on Sunday. The relatives of the deceased, Khan Haidar while confirming his death said that last day he was admitted to Hayatabad Medical Complex where from he was referred to Lady reading Hospital, Peshawar due to his precarious condition, breathed his last on Sunday morning.
It is worth mentioning that Khan Haidar s/o Janat Mir was the attendant of first affected person,Salman Shinwari in Islamabad hospital. According to the health officials, two persons of the two deceased families were shifted to hospital because of suspected health conditions. As precautionary measures the administration closed three private schools and a market in the effected village to halt spread of the fatal virus.
The health officials urged the residents of the effected area to strictly follow the safety measures especially those who have animals in their houses. A day earlier, a 20-year old tribal youth was died of Congo fever here in Piro Khel area of Landi Kotal, subdivision of Khyber district last day.
