A three-day single country Thailand exhibition concluded here Monday as more than 100 Pakistani companies have expressed their interest in getting engaged in the import of Thai products by getting dealerships. The exhibition was organized by Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government with the support of Royal Thai Consulate-General, Karachi and managed by Event and Conference International at a local hotel.
More than 50 companies from Thailand showcased their range of products, I ncluding hardware, car paint, machinery/rice mill, food & beverage, household products, water purification, home textile products, footwear, health & beauty products, medicine and herbal products, motorbike parts, party accessories, jewelry cleaner, electrical appliances etc.
A large number of local traders, dealers, businessmen and general public thronged the exhibition on its second and third days. Visitors especially women overwhelmed by getting chance to buy their Thailand beauty and food products in exhibition.
Suebsak Dangboonrueng, Director Thai Trade Centre, Dhaka, Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Royal Thai Government told reporter on Monday that exhibitors from Thailand received fabulous response from visitors and they were very happy. Many companies have already requested to book their space in next edition of this exhibition, he added.
Mainstream media in Pakistan should portray its soft image in its transmission as Thailand people have also less knowledge about tourism, beauty, culture and business opportunity this country have, he urged.
Director trade compared Bangladesh and said that Pakistan is better living place as it has more opportunities for not only trade but for tourism, entertainment, shopping etc.
Arif Suleman, Honorary Trade Advisor, Thailand hoped that by participating in such exhibitions, Thailand will manage to increase its exports to Pakistan by $1,500 million in 2018 while Pakistan exports to Thailand will also increase this year by $160 million. Director Event & Conference International Rashid ul Haq informed that more than 100 Pakistani companies shave express their interest to get dealerships and have already started negotiations with their counterparts.
