The Karachi Port handled 75,845 tonnes of cargo comprising 56,548 tonnes of import cargo and 19,297 tonnes of export cargo including 1,300 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 56,548 tonnes comprised of 10,865 tonnes of containerised cargo; 4,577 tonnes of bulk cargo; 18,127 tonnes of DAP; 6,650 tonnes of rock phosphate and 16,329 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 19,297 tonnes comprised of 5,905 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,742 tonnes of wheat and 2,650 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 1,300 containers comprising of 777 containers import and 523 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 135 of 20's and 321 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 119 of 20's and 202 of 40's loaded containers while nil of 20's and nil of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely MS Tiger, Al-Soor-II and AS Valentina carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Talass, Al-Soor-II, Falcon Royal, Asphalt Alliance and Mosel Ace carrying containers, oil tankers and vehicle respectively currently at the berths.
A cargo volume of 174,159 tonnes comprising 145,317 tonnes of import cargo and 28,842 tonnes of export cargo including 2,792 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 145,317 tonnes includes 10,008 tonnes of diesel oil; 49,500 tonnes of LNG; 1,232 tonnes of LPG; 47,434 tonnes of coal; 3,597 tonnes of chemicals; 8,461 tonnes of rapeseeds; 879 tonnes of Roro and 24,206 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 28,842 tonnes includes 000 tonnes of cement and 28,842 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 2,792 containers comprising of 1,274 containers import and 1,518 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
There were three ships namely CV MSC Susannah, MV Alliance Norfolk and MV YM Miranda carrying containers, Roro and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely CV MSC Busan carrying containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV MSC Susannah, CV MSC Busan, MV Alliance Norfolk, MV Thor Brave, MV Sakizaya Miracle, MV Melbourne, MV YM Miranda, MT Lokoja, MT Kilburn and MT UACC Ibn Sina were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, Roro, coal, rapeseeds, LNG and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as sixteen ships namely CV APL Savanah, MV GP Asphalt-III, MV Uni Wealth, MV Hercules Ocean, MV Dias, MV Orion-III, MV Sun, MV Darance Naree, MV Darya Tiana, MV Port Veracruz, MV Zoilsa Signal, MT Maria-III, MT Al-Soor-II, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Flagship Tulip and MT Southern Robin carrying containers, bitumen, palm kernel, soyabean, coal, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. CV APL Savanah, CV Maersk Kinloss, MV GP Asphalt-III, MV Uni Wealth, MV Port Veracruz and MT Southern Robin carrying containers, bitumen, palm kernel, coal and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Iron Ore and Coal Berth and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
There were two ships namely CV APL Savanah and CV Maersk Kinloss carrying containers are due to arrive on Tuesday, while another ship namely CV Conti Darwin carrying containers is due to arrive on Wednesday.
