"Transparency, upholding of merit would be a hallmark at University of Agriculture Faisalabad." This was stated by UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal Randhawa while chairing the meeting of the Deans' committee here at New Syndicate Hall on Wednesday.
Lauding the philosophy of merit, transparency and austerity of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the VC vowed to bring a role model governance system for other universities of the country.
He assured the meeting that he would never interfere in the jurisdiction of the deans, rather encourage them to ensure merit and transparency.
Dr Zafar Iqbal Randhawa, while talking about administrative matters of the varsity, said that the management has started working on empowering the deans of the faculties so that different issues can be addressed and prompt action could be taken without wasting time in seeking approval of the vice chancellor.
He urged the deans to come up with solid reforms relating to their administrative powers to make the system foolproof, transparent and efficient.
Dr Zafar directed the Registrar to make arrangements for recruitment of teachers thereby to ensure student/teacher ratio at par with the global trends. He directed the meeting to ensure the foolproof arrangements on the eve of Defence Day. On the occasion, he said, in order to pay homage to the martyrs and make a permanent source of raising their ranks in Janat, a Shuhada Park would also be inaugurated where saplings on their names would be planted in presence of the heirs and army officers.
It was briefed to the VC that the day will dawn with the recitation of Quran at 8:30 am at central mosque UAF after that special programme will be arranged at 9:00 am at New Senate Hall to pay tribute to martyrs. At 9:45 a walk will be taken out. Moreover, 4,000 free moringa saplings will also be disbursed at Laboratory High School on first come first serve basis.
