Prime Minister Imran Khan has inducted four more federal ministers in his cabinet, taking the number of ministers, advisors and special assistants in the federal government to 29. There are now 20 federal ministers in the Prime Minister's cabinet, one minister of state, five advisors to the PM and three special assistants to the PM.
On Saturday, Omer Ayub was inducted in the federal cabinet with the portfolio of Power Division in Ministry of Energy, Ali Zaidi as Minister for Maritime Affairs, Muhammad Mian Soomro as Minister for Privatization while portfolio of Murad Saeed will be announced later. As per the 18th Constitutional Amendment, the strength of federal cabinet cannot exceed beyond 11 percent of the total membership of the Parliament ie National Assembly and Senate. The present government can form 49-member cabinet.
