KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday issued notices to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor on a plea, seeking release until verdict is announced, filed against sentence in National Insurance Corporation Limited (NICL) corruption case.
SHC heard the plea filed by convicted in NICL corruption case, Ameen Qasim Dada, seeking release until his verdict is announced in a plea filed against sentence.
An accountability court in Karachi had announced its verdict in the mega land scam case and awarded 7 years of imprisonment to all 7 accused of the case.
It also barred the six suspects from holding any public office for 10 years each.
The accused include former NICL Chief Ayaz Khan Niazi, Aamir Hussain, Zahid Hussain and Muhammad Zahoor.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a reference that accused had of purchased land form government in Karachi’s Korangi area at a higher price, causing a loss of Rs490 million to the national kitty.
