Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday said that reforms were being introduced in Punjab police and no one could interfere in police affairs. "Police will be made totally neutral and a public service institution which would come up to the expectations of general public," Buzdar said this while chairing a high-level meeting in which proposals regarding establishment of police reforms commission were reviewed in detail.
The meeting was briefed about the establishment of police reforms commission in the province. Addressing the meeting, the CM said that police are responsible to redress the grievances of people and serving complainants is the fundamental responsibility of police. He directed that matters pertaining to establishment of police reforms commission should be settled and recommendations should be given final shape at the earliest.
Meanwhile talking to a delegation of Nazaria Pakistan Trust (NPT) and Tehrik-e-Pakistan Workers Trust (TPWT), he said that services of NPT and TPWT are praiseworthy and work has been performed actively to sensitize the new generation about the great struggle of Muslims for a separate homeland.
He said that policies and vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan is being moved forward and the government is working hard to provide better facilities to the people. Reforms will be introduced in health, education, tourism and other sectors to provide better services to the people.
"We are committed with the people and moving towards right direction," he added. The delegation was headed by former Justice Mian Mehboob Ahmed. Moreover, Deputy Chief of Air Staff (Training) Air Marshal Shahid Akhtar Alvi in a meeting with Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar discussed issues including professional matters of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
Paying tributes to the PAF for wonderfully protecting the air frontiers of the country, he said the PAF is one of the best air forces in the world which has written a history of bravery while protecting the air frontiers of the country and the nation is proud of its air force.
He said the PAF has always taken active part in rehabilitation process during the natural calamities. Cooperation between the Punjab government and the PAF will continue in health and education sectors and it is also hoped that this partnership would be further expanded, he added.
