Faiz Mohammad elected unopposed as President of Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) for the next term 2018-19, while Saad Khan Zahid and Haris Mufti were elected senior vice-president and vice-president respectively unopposed, respectively. The announcement was made by the chamber's election commission comprising Malik Niaz Ahmad, Ziaul Haq Sarhadi and Waris Khan Afridi in a statement issued here on Monday, stating that these businessmen succeeded unopposed as no one had submitted nomination papers against them till last day of nominations.
The newly elected office-bearers will take charge of their offices on Oct 1, 2018. The annual general body meeting of SCCI will be held on September 29.
Earlier, the eleven members of the executive committee of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) were elected unopposed.
According to the press statement of the election commission of the chamber, the nominees for the five vacant seats of the Corporate Group of the committee, five Associate Group members and one member on the women reserved seat were declared victorious unopposed.
For the five Corporate Group seats eight candidates, Fuad Ishaq, Haji Afzal, Imdad Khan Afridi, Pervez Khan Khattak, Adnan Inayat, Irshad and Fayaz Ahmed Piracha withdrew their nomination papers.
After the withdrawal of the papers, the election commission declared Malik Imran Ishaq, Saad Khan Zahid, Aftab Iqbal, Muhammad Shafiq Afridi and Shahid Hussain elected unopposed as SCCI executive committee members.
Similarly, for the Associated Group five seats, Faiz Muhammad, Sanaullah Khan, Shamsur Rahim, Muhammad Altaf Baig and Ihsanullah were elected unopposed as members of the SCCI executive committee. On female reserved seat, Mubarak Begum has been elected as the member of the executive committee.
