Country's survival lies in construction of new dams: Buzdar

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday said the country's survival lies in the construction of new dams and the passion with which the people are giving donations is praiseworthy. "The government is the custodian of every penny of the nation and a culture of austerity and simplicity is being promoted in the province of Punjab. The resources being conserved due to simplicity will be utilized on public welfare because a nation that is already in debt cannot incur heavy expenses," he said.
The CM expressed the resolve that Pakistan will earn a position of respect and honor in the comity of nations and the green passport will be respected everywhere. "The people will soon realize the positive change in new Pakistan," he said, adding: "Every step of the government is taken for public welfare and the people will soon notice their country is fast moving towards development and prosperity."
In a statement, the CM said that composite development as well as provision of basic necessities of life to the people is priority agenda of the government and a comprehensive strategy has been adopted to implement the 100-day plan.
He said that work has been started to introduce holistic reforms in different sectors including health and education. Moreover, the CM has assigned duties to the provincial ministers, advisors and special assistants to monitor the security arrangements during Muharram. They will inspect the arrangements made for maintenance of law and order in their respective districts on 8th to 10th Muharram and implementation on the security plan will be ensured in collaboration with concerned administration and police.
While issuing directions to the cabinet sub-committee on law and order, the CM said that provincial ministers should ensure strict monitoring of security plan in their given districts and any leniency or negligence in security duties will be strictly unbearable. Maintenance of religious harmony among all the schools of thought will be ensured in collaboration with the Ulema and administration should proactively ensure implementation on the code of conduct. The citizens should also remain fully vigilant to fail the nefarious designs of the enemy, he added. A notification to this effect has also been issued, he added.
