Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s 91th birth anniversary observed
SUKKUR: Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Lawyers Forum on Saturday celebrated the 91th birthday of former prime minister and founding PPP leader Shaheed Zuliqar Ali Bhutto at the city court. Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, his advisor Barrister Murtaza Wahab and a large number of advocates participated in the event. Murad and Wahab cut the cake of Bhutto’s birthday.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sindh CM said that they realized what was Bhutto, when they sit with deprived and oppressed people of the country. “Today is 91th birthday of Bhutto who always said that one Bhutto is he himself and another Bhutto live in the hearts of the people of this country.”
Shah recalled that Bhutto had started his career from city court and studied in Sindh Muslim Law Collage. ‘’My father also started his career from here and then he became CM Sindh,’’ Shah said.
He said it was unfortunate for him that he could not become advocate but he know law. ‘’ Any other political party does not has such proud as lawyers support PPP,’’ he said. Shah said Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto gave constitution to the country and also made it a nuclear power. He lauded Bhutto’s services to the country.
He vowed to protect constitution of Pakistan and said they would halt all conspiracies against PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and former President Asif Ali Zardari.
Meanwhile, CM Sindh and other PPP leaders also celebrated 91th birthday of Bhutto at CM House and cut a cake in this regard. PPP workers also celebrated Bhutto’s 91th birthday anniversary in Garhi Khuda Bux and Naundero. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was born on January 5, 1928 in Larkana. He held prime minister office from 1973 to 1977. In July 1977, General Zia-ul-Haq dismissed the Bhutto’s government. Zia was also perceived to be involved in the controversial decision against Bhutto, leading to his hanging on April 4, 1979.
