Training of heavy transport vehicle drivers on modern professional lines is need of the hour keeping in view the expansion of high speed road networks of CPEC and resultant demand of skilled drivers. Inspector General National Highway & Motorway Police Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan said this during an inauguration ceremony of heavy driving simulators in collaboration with Total Parco Pakistan at NH&MP Training College, Sheikhupura.
The event was attended by Additional IG North Ghulam Rasool Zahid, DIG Training College Mehboob Aslam, DIG Central Zone Ahmad Arslan Malik, DIG Motorways Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Senior Vice President Total Asia Pacific and Middle East region Christian Cabrol, CEO Total Parco Pakistan Olivier Sabrie, large number of renowned journalists, anchors and other senior officers of motorway police.
Aamir Zulfiqar along with Senior Vice President Total Parco Christian Cabrol inaugurated launching of heavy transport simulators imported from France.
While addressing the ceremony, Christian Cabrol said his company had joined hands with NH&MP entrusting its professionalism and serious approach towards road safety. He said his company realizes the sense of shared responsibility and will continue to cooperate with Motorway Police in other road safety projects.
Aamir Zulfiqar said that establishment of state-of-the-art road safety training institutes equipped with all learning tools including driving simulators are an endeavor of motorway police to promote safe driving culture. The IG stressed the need of theoretical and practical learning of driving skills for safer roads. He also emphasized the role of media in promotion of road safety awareness and change of attitudes of general public. Later, he planted saplings along in pursuance of Green Pakistan campaign.
