Former chief minister Punjab Manzoor Wattoo is all set to contest by-polls after joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, said sources. It may be noted that PTI's Jehangir Tareen had called on him last week and invited him to join the PTI. Federal Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Senior Punjab Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Rai Hassan Nawaz and Rai Aziz Ullah also accompanied Tareen.
The sources said Wattoo had applied for the PTI ticket to contest by-polls from NA-103, Faisalabad. Earlier, his son had contested general elections from the platform of PTI. Wattoo has also served as PPP Punjab president. He was considered to be very close to former president Asif Zardari. However, his name was among those PPP leaders who were suspected to be turning coats and joining PTI ahead of general elections. Wattoo family had, however, decided to contest general elections independently while his son joined the PTI.
