As many as 4700 contract employees of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) will be extended the status of regular employees, said sources. The sources said that the power division is set to extend a similar status to the contractual employees working with other distribution companies in the country.
It may be noted that the establishment division had directed the power division to regularize the contractual employees which has forwarded the same instruction to the distribution companies. Accordingly, all the contractual employees at LESCO, GEPCO, FESCO and PEPCO would be regularized soon and all the employees completing their contractual period would be taken as permanent employees.
