The City Traffic Police (CTP) Lahore during the second day of its ongoing operation against motorcyclists without helmets imposed heavy fines on 1,295 bike riders on The Mall. "We have so far issued 3775 heavy fines to motorcyclists for not wearing helmets during the first shift of our ongoing operation against the bikers only on Mall Road," said Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Liaqat Ali Malik while distributing awareness pamphlets and free-of-cost helmets among the motorists in collaboration with Atlas Honda at Faisal Chowk on Tuesday.
Collectively, the CTO said, they have taken strict action and issued fine tickets to 16645 persons for not wearing or having helmets in Lahore with a view to implement a Lahore High Court order in its letter and spirit and make people law abiding.
