Adviser to Chief Minister Sindh on Information, Anti-Corruption and Law, Barrister Murtaza Wahab Thursday said that Karachi has become the focus of foreign investments, which was a positive sign. Addressing a conference on 'Bridging the Gap between Traditional and Emerging Economies' organised by Pakistan Block Chain at a local hotel, he said investment from Japan and Central Asian countries would create employment opportunities in the city, according to a statement.
Advisor to CM said Sindh particularly Karachi was attracting local and foreign investments due to improved law and order situation. On behalf of Sindh government, he assured the investors of more conducive environment for the investment.
Murtaza Wahab said it was prime directive from his top leadership that they move towards innovation and transparency across key institutions like anti-corruption, health, information, education etc. "Let's work together to bring positive change to our society so that our children might welcome a better tomorrow," he concluded. Later talking to media, Murtaza Wahab said Karachi faced worst law and order situation in the past, however, PPP government with the support of law enforcement agencies fought long battle against terrorism and restored peace in the city.
Responding to queries the advisor said law and order situation in Karachi was slightly deteriorated owing to wrong decisions and frequent transfers and postings in the police department by caretaker setup which was being rectified and at present law and order situation was under control adding that more improvements would emerge soon.-PR
