Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chief Dr Tahir Ul Qadri has said that many questions relating to the Model Town massacre will remain unanswered unless main accused of the offence are not summoned by the court. Addressing to a press conference on Thursday, he said those who conspire and act upon conspiracy both have collectively criminal liability.
"There are certain questions regarding Model Town incident which are required to be answered. Under whose order, shooters of 50 police stations gathered at Model Town? If the IG sent them, under whose direction he was sent from Quetta to Lahore? The PAT had approached the Lahore High Court to summon real culprits who could be declared innocent only after cross-examination."
Qadri announced that "we will challenge this judgment in the Supreme Court." He said 13 points in dissenting opinion are worth noting which comprises 71 pages whereas the judgment against summoning of accused has only 33 pages. He said Prime Minister Imran Khan in telephonic contact has expressed his resolve for justice with victim families of Model Town incident. Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Aleem Khan also met him in this regard.
