The newly elected Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) president Khawaja Masood Akhtar on Saturday said modernisation of industrial sector of Sialkot which export-oriented city hub of cottage of the country is on top agenda.
Talking to Business Recorder at SCCI here this evening he said special attention would be focused on creating awareness about the new technologies among the business community of area enabling to adopt new production techniques on priority basis. Masood said without adopting modern industrial technologies we are unable to compete with global markets having traditional industrial modes.
Under the prevailing circumstances the business community should concentrate on research and development is the core need of the hour to compete in the global markets he said. Masood further vowed to motivate the local business community of the area should modernise and upgrade their industrial setups not only to compete with new industrial trends but also enhancing the export volume.
The new SCCI president further stated special steps should be taken for the promotion of new businessmen adding that Sialkot is a city where new businessmen could succeed and achieve the heights of success with dedication and commitment. Adequate efforts would also be made for finding ways and means for enhancing the export volume and bringing out the exports from stagnant era he said.
