The Karachi Port handled 75,073 tonnes of cargo comprising 46,786 tonnes of import cargo and 28,287 tonnes of export cargo including 2,272 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargos of 46,786 tonnes comprised of 18,426 tonnes of containerised cargo; 935 tonnes of bulk cargo; 9,852 tonnes of DAP and 17,573 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 28,287 tonnes comprised of 11,567 tonnes of containerised cargo; 14,020 tonnes of clinker and 2,700 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 2,272 containers comprising of 1,315 containers import and 957 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 377 of 20's and 442 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 27 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 275 of 20's and 331 of 40's loaded containers while 04 of 20's and 08 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There was one ship namely Orient Sakura carrying oil tanker sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were six vessels viz. KMTC Mumbai, Tolten, Bomar Hermes, Pacific Martine, Jossco Runzhou and Pacific Dwan carrying containers, oil tanker, clinker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 98,765 tonnes comprising 94,965 tonnes of import cargo and 3,800 tonnes of export cargo including 1,800 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 94,965 tonnes includes 40,000 tonnes of diesel oil; 8,539 tonnes of palm oil; 16,026 tonnes of coal and 30,400 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 3,800 tonnes includes 3,800 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 1,800 containers comprising of 1,600 containers import and 200 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There was one ship namely CV Safmarine Ngami, MT Al-Soor-II carrying diesel oil sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV MSC Athos, MV Cao Yu-2, MV Forever SW, MV Hercules Ocean, MV Agrio, MT Al-Soor-II and MT Maritime Gisela were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, talcum powder, soyabean, coal, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as eleven ships namely CV ER Tokyo, MV Star Sophia, MV Aeolian Heritage, MV Dias, MV Sophia-N, MT Gas Amazon, MT Maria-III, MT Muskie, MT Ghrisopig Lady, MT Stena Premium and MT Maritime Suzain carrying containers, soyabean, cement, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three vessels viz. CV Maersk Atlanta, MT Gas Amazon and MT Muskie carrying containers, LPG and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Tuesday. There is one ship namely CV MOL Gateway carrying containers due to arrive on Wednesday, while two more ships namely CV CMA CGM Al-Maviva and CV Hansa America carrying containers respectively are due to arrive on Thursday.
