Muhammad Ahmad created new national record in 50m Under-12 Breaststroke while Sindh was leading the medal table in the ongoing 23rd National Junior Age Group Swimming Championship here at Adil Khan Swimming Pool here on Saturday. Muhammad Ahmad succeeded in breaking the old record of Aniq Anwar of Sindh who clocked 00.38.63sec during the 22nd edition in 2017 by recording new national record with the time 00.37.69sec and grabbed first gold medal for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Director General (Sports) Junaid Khan appreciated the Muhammad Ahmad. Rehan Maqbool of Sindh got silver medal and Saeed of KP won bronze medal respectively.
In on the other events the second day, Sindh mostly dominated and was leading the medal table. Sindh grabbed nine gold, 11 silver and 6 bronze medal, Punjab remained second with six gold medal, four silver medal and three bronze medals and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with one gold, one silver and seven bronze medal remained at third in as many teams.
In the 200m breaststroke Under-16 Zeeshan Abbas of Sindh won gold medal, followed by Abdul Hanan of Punjab and Zarzar Adnan Ali of Sindh won bronze medal, in the 400m Under-14 Sameer Asif won gold medal, followed by Muhammad Yousaf, also from Sindh, and Khawjah Feroaz of Punjab.
In the Under-12 100m free style Ibrahim Rashid of Punjab won gold medal, Mekail Faisal of Punjab and Aman Siddique of Sindh, in the Under-14 200m breaststroke Zanial of Punjab won gold medal, followed by Saif Baig of Sindh and Rehman, also from Sindh with silver and bronze medals respectively.
