To promote higher education opportunities for Pakistani students, representatives of 33 US universities travelled to Karachi this week to host the biggest US College Fair in Pakistan from October 7-8. The 13th biannual South Asia Tour provided thousands of Pakistani students, parents, counsellors, and local university officials from Sindh with an opportunity to explore a wide array of academic programmes and receive first-hand guidance on applying for admission.
"We are fortunate to have representatives from over 33 American colleges and universities here today to recruit local students. That's the most that have visited Pakistan in recent years, and it shows that our colleges realize how many excellent students there are in Pakistan. The institutions represented here also showcase the diversity of American higher education. No matter your interests, you can find a good match among our thousands of excellent colleges and universities," said US Consul General JoAnne Wagner in Karachi.
This year, EducationUSA Pakistan at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) hosted the largest group of US university representatives to ever visit Pakistani schools and universities. Of these US universities visiting Pakistan, 17 are visiting for the first time. They include, Ohio University, Boise State University, Colby-Sawyer College, New York Institute of Technology, Kent State University, Louisiana Tech University, University of Illinois - Chicago, Monmouth University, Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis, The University of Texas at Arlington - College of Engineering, State University of New York at Fredonia (SUNY), Michigan State University, Florida International University, Pittsburg State University, Augustana University, Coe College, and Fordham University.-PR
