The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Wednesday authorized nine inquiries, 22 investigations and four corruption references against some high profile people including former chief minister Balochistan, former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, former minister Saad Rafique and former minister Manzoon Ahmed Wattoo.
According to official statement issued by the NAB the decision to this effect was taken at the Executive Board Meeting (EBM) of the Bureau which was presided over by Chairman NAB former Justice Javed Iqbal, said a press release issued here.
It said that the authorized nine people included former minister for railway Saeed Rafiqu, officials and officer of Railway, former minister for commerce Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, former minister commerce Sindh Manzoor Wasan, former MPA Nawab Ali Wasan, former MPA Ifitkhar Gillani and officer and officials of Khyber Pakhtunkwa Ehtisab Commission.
Similarly, NAB okayed 22 investigation against different people including former finance minister Ishaq Dar, former minister Anosha Rehman, former chairman PTA Dr Ismail Shah, former member PTA Abdus Samad, former member PTA Tariq Sultan and three setting and former officials of PTA. The NAB also authorized inquires against M/s Warid Telecom Khawaja Saad Raifqu, Khawaja Salman Rafiqu, Nadeem Zia, Qasir Amen But, Kamran Lashari former chairman CDA, Kamran Ali Qureshi former member fianance CDA, Shaukat Ali Mohmand former member CDA, Asad Munir former member estate CDA, Mazhar Hussain former member environment CDA, Moen ud Din Kakhail former engineering CDA, Gulam Sarwar Sindho DG CDA, Munier Gilani former deputy director land CDA, Muhammad Hussain MD M/S DTS, Krak Mareen Project Karachi Raja Muhammad Zarat Khan Bawen Shah group, Sareer Muhammad former DG PDA, Mehmood Tariq GM PDA, Dr Ayub DG health services department of health Khayber Pakhtunkhwa, and official and officer of UET University Peshawar.
The bureau has filed of four corruption references in the Accountability Court.
The EBM approved filing corruption reference against Gul Hassan Channa, former Secretary R and S, EP, board of Revenue Sindh, Iftikhar Haider, former MD Karachi Water and Sewerage Board. Syed Umer Ahmed, Sarfraz Merchant, Shahid Rasool, Syed Muhammad Mujtaba, Mirza Afzal Baig, Awais Mirza, Jamil and Farid Suriya.
They have been accused of allotting 769 acre state land illegally to their favourites private persons inflicting Rs 480.40 million losses to national exchequer.
The EBM authorized filing corruption reference against Naeem Yahya Mir, former Managing Director Pakistan State Oil, Dr Syed Nazir Ahmed Zaidi, senior General Manager Pakistan State Oil, Zulfikar Ali Jaffery, former senior General Manager,Akhtar Zaheer, former general manager, Sabir Hussain, Former Director General Oil, Kamran Iktikhar Lari,chief Operating officer, Bico Pakistan Limited. They have been accused of inking oil agreement with Byco Oil Pakistan limited in contrary to agreement. This caused Rs 23 billion losses national exchequer.
EBM authorized conducting corruption references against Abdul Hameed Pathan, administrator, Taulka , Gharo Khairo, Jackobabad,Sindh , Engineer TMA Taulka, Ghari Khairo, District Jackobabad, Sahahzada Khokar and others. They inflicted Rs 20 billion losses to national kitty by misusing authority.
The EBM approved filing corruption reference against former chief engineer Sukkar Barriage left bank region Ahmed Junaid Memon, Ahmed Junaid Memon, former chief engineer Sukkar Barraige, Saeed Ahmed former superintendent engineer, Amjad Ahmed former executive engineer, Syed Husnain Haider, Assistant Executive engineer, Shahzad Ali chief Executvie /director messers Sardar Muhammad DAshraf Baloch and Company
They have been accused corruption in various government schemes, thus causing Rs 660 million losses to national kitty.-PR
