Speaker issues production order for detained Shahbaz: NA session on October 17

Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser Wednesday issued a production order for detained Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif and the session of the House has been summoned on October 17. According to the order issued by the speaker, Shehbaz Sharif should be allowed to attend the session on a daily basis under the rules.
According to the press release, Asad Qaiser has summoned the National Assembly session in exercise of powers conferred by clause (3) of Article 54 of the Constitution. The speaker has directed the Punjab government and other authorities concerned to produce the detained opposition leader in the National Assembly so that he may take part in the session.
Shahbaz Sharif was arrested in a corruption case by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on October 5. He was charged for awarding illegal contract to his favorite firm in Ashiana-e-Iqbal Housing scheme. Shehbaz Sharif was later handed over to the NAB on a 10-day physical remand.
