The city police claimed on Friday to have achieved a major breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown against drug peddlers by arresting 81 suspects on charges of selling drugs near educational institutions.
Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Asad Sarfraz Khan told reporters that police teams have so far hunted down 81 drug peddlers who were nominated in at least 81 FIRs. He alleged that the suspects were selling spurious drugs among students of various colleges and universities.
