A considerable increase in prices of important kitchen items, like vegetable, pulses, chicken meat, eggs, flour was witnessed in retail market, said a survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday. An upward trend in prices of chicken meat is continued in retail market as available at Rs149 per kilogram which was selling at Rs134 per kilogram in the previous weeks. A dozen of farm eggs are being sold at Rs120 per kilogram against the price of Rs110 per kg in the last week. Similarly, cow meat is being sold at Rs420-450 per kilogram against the official rate of Rs300 per kg in retail market. Mutton beef priced at Rs750 per kg in retail market.
The prices of vegetable remained 'sky-high' in retail market, survey witnessed. Tomatoes are being sold at Rs60 per kilogram which was selling at Rs40 per kilogram, while the price of one-kilogram onion has went down to Rs30 per kilogram which was selling at Rs40 per kilogram in retail market.
Chinese garlic is available at Rs160 per kilogram whereas locally produced garlic priced at Rs70 per kilogram in retail market, the survey noticed; it added that Rs10 per kilogram increase was witnessed in price of cucumber as available at Rs50 per kilogram against Rs40 per kilogram in retail market. Green chilli priced at Rs80 per kg.
According to the survey, price of capsicum have touched new peak as available at Rs200 per kilogram, ladyfinger is being sold at Rs80 per kilogram. Arvi is being available at Rs60 per kilogram. One-kilogram cauliflower is being sold at Rs60 while cabbages are being sold at Rs50 per kg.
Likewise, the survey said apple gourd, bottle gourd and ridge gourd prices range between Rs60-80 per kg in retail market, while bringle at Rs40 per kilogram. It added that red potato is being sold at Rs40 per kilogram while white potato available at Rs30 per kilogram in retail market. Peas priced at Rs150 per kilogram, the survey said. The survey witnessed that price of a one-kilogram good quality rice (sela) has decreased at Rs140 per kilogram which was selling at Rs150 per kilogram in retail market, while tota rice is being sold at Rs80 per kilogram.
Similarly, price of one-kilogram dal mash had gone down at Rs110 per kilogram which was selling at Rs140 per kilogram in the previous week.
Dal chana priced at Rs120 per kg, dal masoor available at Rs100 per kg against the price of Rs100 per kilogram.
Likewise, the dal chilka (green) is being sold at Rs110 per kg against the price of Rs120 per kg, while Dal chilka (black) was priced at Rs160 per kg in the retail market. Moong priced at Rs110 per kg against the price of Rs110 per kilogram.
A one-kilogram big-size white chana is being sold at Rs140 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs150 per kilogram.Rs10 per kilogram decrease was witnessed in price of white lobiya in the retail market as available at Rs110 per kilogram. Red bean locally produced is being available at Rs180 per kilogram while Chinese red-bean priced at Rs120 per kg.
Sugar is being sold at Rs55 per kilogram. Gram flour (baisen) priced at Rs120 per kilogram which was selling at Rs110 per kilogram in the previous week. A considerable increase in prices of wheat flour was witnessed in retail market, as available at Rs50-52 per kilogram which was selling at Rs45 per kilogram in the previous week.
Prices of cooking oil/ghee of different brand/quality are remained unchanged in the retail market as available within range of Rs150-170 and Rs170 per litre/kg. Golden apples are being sold at Rs100 per kilogram, grapes at Rs100-120 per kg, guava at Rs80 per kg, banana is being sold at Rs50-60 per dozen in the retail market.
