PML-Q President and former prime minister Ch Shujaat Hussain has said that prior to coming to power Imran Khan had no idea about how much previous government had worsened the economy. Talking to the media after casting his vote in Muslim Abad Polling Station NA-69 of Gujrat, he said that the PTI government is functioning quite successfully that has been established after passing through difficult circumstances.
"Those who are conspiring against the government will continue to do so, the veteran politician and coalition partner of PTI government added. Shujaat said Shahbaz Sharif is imprisoned not due to Ashiana Housing Scheme but because of his oppressive attitude, he himself is responsible for these circumstances, Shahbaz has come in the grip of Allah due to Model Town tragedy, I strongly hope that justice will soon be provided to the families of martyrs of Model Town tragedy.
Talking to the media Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Parvez Elahi said that those officers who were involved in Model Town tragedy should be removed from their posts so that an impartial inquiry can take place.
In reply to a question the speaker said that devastation of 10 years caused by the Sharif brothers misrule, cannot be set right in just 60 days as such the government should be given time so that it can move forward and rectify the gross mistakes and corruption.
"In the world history this has never happened that criticism is started just after two months. Usman Buzdar is a good and strong Chief Minister. He will certainly deliver in Punjab province".
In response to a question he said it was a welcome step that overseas Pakistanis have given the right of vote which is an indication towards the change.
He said the new generation is coming to the fore and this will also bring the change (tabdeeli) in the country
