Huge quantity of betel nuts, Indian gutka seized

Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Preventive on Wednesday claimed to have confiscated huge quantity of betel nuts and smuggled Indian gutka from Jodia Bazar area. According to details, the action was taken on a tip-off, which revealed that some unscrupulous elements have dumped contraband betel nuts and Indian gutka in a warehouse located in Jodia Bazar area. Reacting on this information, the team of Preventive department conducted raid at said place and recovered 48 tons of betel nuts and 884 kilograms of Indian gutka.
The market value of confiscated goods is estimated to Rs 25.5 million. A case has been registered and further investigation was underway.
