Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has released Rs 63.56 billion (9.42 percent) for different development projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2018-19 against the total budget allocation of Rs 675 billion.
According to the latest data of PSDP 2018-19 released by Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms, the government released a total of Rs 37.29 billion for development projects of various ministries, divisions and relating to their department out of Rs 291.55 billion budgeted allocation. However, no foreign aid has been released so far.
The PTI government did not release development funds so far for Board of Investment, Commerce Division, Economic Affairs Division, Establishment Division, Inter-Provincial Coordination Division and Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Division.
The Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms has released a total of Rs 12.086 billion out of Rs 185.2 billion budgeted allocation for various development projects of National Highway Authority (NHA) and Rs 4.12 billion out of Rs 28.065 billion budgeted allocation for the development projects of Pakistan Railway. The government released Rs 6.45 billion out of Rs 78 billion for development projects and schemes of Water Resources Division.
The government released Rs 593.85 million out of Rs 1.09 billion budgeted allocation for the development projects of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division, Rs 977.66 million for Planning, Development and Reforms and Rs 3.6 million for Textile Industry Division etc.
A total of Rs 4.61 billon out of Rs 30.96 billion budgeted allocation have been released for Higher Education Commission, Rs 2.6 billion have been released for Interior Division, Rs 5.39 billion for States and Frontier Region Division and Rs 28.7 million for Federal Education Commission.
The government has released Rs 201 million for Cabinet Division against the total budget allocation of Rs 1 billion. Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission received Rs 4.72 billion out of Rs 26.7 billion budgeted allocation for development projects. An amount of Rs 205.45 million has been release for Aviation Division, Rs 321.2 million for Capital Administration and Development Division, Rs 153.34 million for Climate Change and Rs 380 million have been released for Defence Production Division.
The government has released Rs 5.35 billion for development projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the total budgeted allocation of Rs 25.86 billion and Rs 7.4 billion for development project of Gilgit-Baltistan out of Rs 17.53 billion budgeted allocation for current fiscal year-2018-19.
Funds are released as per quarterly ceilings; first quarter (July-September) 20%, second quarter (October-December) 20 percent, third quarter (January-March) 30% and fourth quarter (April-June) 30 percent.
