Prices of important kitchen items, like vegetable, pulses, chicken meat, sugar, flour have remained high-side in retail market, according to survey conducted by Busiiness Recorder here on Sunday A slight increase in price of chicken meat was witnessed in retail market as available at Rs152 per kilogram against the rate of Rs145 per kg in the previous week, the price of farm eggs has also been increased at Rs130 which was selling at Rs110 per dozen in last week. Similarly, cow meat is available at Rs450 per kilogram against the official rate of Rs300 per kg, while mutton beef priced at Rs750-800 per kg in local market.
The price of vegetable is continued to rise in local market. One-kilogram tomatoes are being sold at Rs70 against the rate of Rs50 per kilogram in the previous week. However, price of onion has decreased at Rs30 per kilogram which was selling at Rs40 per kilogram.
Price of ginger was remained high-side as available at Rs240 per kilogram. Chinese garlic is available at Rs160-200 per kilogram while locally produced garlic being sold at Rs40-60 per kilogram in local market. Cucumber is being sold at Rs50 per kilogram against the rate of Rs40 per kilogram in retail market. Green chili priced at Rs80 per kilogram. Lemon is being sold at Rs100 per kilogram.
The survey noticed that price of peas has touched new peak in retail market as available at Rs250-300 per kilogram. Ladyfinger is being sold at Rs80 per kilogram, cauliflower at Rs70 per kilogram, cabbage at Rs60 per kilogram.
Likewise, capsicum is being sold at Rs80 per kg, arvi at Rs70 per kg, apple gourd, bottle gourd and ridge gourd prices range between Rs80-100 per kg in retail market, while bringle at Rs40 per kilogram. Red potato is being sold at Rs40 per kilogram while white potato available at Rs30 per kilogram.
The survey noticed the prices of pulses remained stable, as no significant increase or change was witnessed in retail market. It said that a one-kilogram good quality rice (sela) priced at Rs140 per kilogram, while toota rice is being sold at Rs80 per kilogram. Similarly, price of one-kilogram dal mash is being sold at Rs110, Dal channa priced at Rs120 per kg, dal masoor available at Rs100 per kg against the price of Rs100 per kilogram.
Likewise, the dal chilka (green) is being sold at Rs110 per kg against the price of Rs120 per kg, while Dal chilka (black) was priced at Rs160 per kg in the
retail market. Moonge is being sold at Rs120 per kg against the price of Rs110 per kilogram.
A one-kilogram big-size white channa is being sold at Rs140 per kilogram. White lobiya in the retail market is being available at Rs110 per kilogram. Red bean locally produced is being available at Rs180 per kilogram while Chinese red-bean priced at Rs120 per kg.
Sugar is being sold at Rs55 per kilogram. Gram flour (baisen) priced at Rs120 per kilogram which was selling at Rs110 per kilogram in the previous week.
A considerable increase in prices of wheat flour was witnessed in retail market, as available at Rs50-52 per kilogram which was selling at Rs45 per kilogram in the previous week.
